Wisconsin State Chapter NWTF JAKES member Justice Ring of Rhinelander was awarded a spot on the Annual Learn to Bear Hunt Event. Justice is a youth member in the Woodland Longspurs Chapter based in Rhinelander. He was one of 48 youth nominated out of 30 Chapters who submitted candidates for the annual drawing. This hunt is sponsored and conducted by the Wisconsin Bear Hunters Association and WDNR. Justice's father Mike said, "I was planning to transfer my bear points to my son one of these years. Now he will get this opportunity this fall". Justice is 13 years old and has been waiting for a chance to participate in one of Wisconsin's big game hunts. As part of the arrangement Justice has been asked to keep a journal of his hunt experience and write a short essay. We will post his story on the web site later this fall. Special thanks to our partners at the WBHA and DNR Warden Staff for conducting the special Learn to Hunt Bear opportunities. Thanks also to NWTF Regional Directors Joe Wavra, Charley Burke, Daron Bohn and Rodney Schlafer for getting the word out to local chapter leaders who submitted deserving JAKES.
